Donald Lewis Schulman, a resident of Dothan, AL, passed on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at a local hospital. He was 76 years old.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2pm on Monday, February 7, 2022 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Gerald Vinson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1pm- 2pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel.
Donald was born on October 29, 1945 in Houston County and resided in Dothan most of his life. He was a graduate of Dothan High School class of 1964. Donald was employed with CSX railroad company for over 25 years. Later, he co-owned and operated Schulman Wrecker Services with his brother, Ronald for 25 years before opening Donald Schulman Wrecker Service. He loved being in the outdoors. Donald enjoyed hunting and fishing, watching Alabama football games, but most of all supporting and watching his son, Shane drag race.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Hyman and Emma Schulman; and his children, Daniel Pynes and Brandi Smith.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Kathy Schulman; sons, Shane (Amanda) Schulman and Jerome (Vi) Pynes; 10 grandchildren, Taylor Schulman, Emma Schulman, Makenzie Schulman, Cade Smith, Chelsea Smith, Eden Peyer, Eli Dawson, Cierra Pynes, Chase Pynes and Aaron Pynes; brother, Ronald Schulman; sister, Peggy Nash; and nieces and nephews, Crystal (Brian) Clark, Carter Clark, Claire Clark, Mark Starling and Dawn Schulman.
