HEADLAND. . .Donald Lindbergh (Juma) Stewart, Jr., a resident of Headland, died Thursday night, June 11, 2015, in Noland Hospital in Dothan. He was 52.


            Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 14, 2015, in the Headland Methodist Cemetery with Reverend Phil Craddock officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the graveside services. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.


            Memorial contributions may be made to the Headland Methodist Cemetery “Fence Fund”, 103 West King Street, Headland, AL 36345.


            Mr. Stewart was born in Statesboro, Georgia and moved with his family to Abbeville as a child. He was a 1980 graduate of Abbeville High School and attended Troy University. He received a degree in Wildlife Management from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Georgia. Mr. Stewart was a member of the Headland United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his lifelong friend, Sam Richardson. Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his father, Donald Lindbergh Stewart, Sr., his grandparents, Jim and Ruth Wilson of Newnan, Georgia, and U. C. and Eula B. Stewart of Ochlocknee, Georgia.


            Surviving relatives include his mother, Betty Jean Stewart, a sister, Kathy Arrington (Greg), all of Headland; two nephews, Stewart Arrington (Hannah), and Ben Arrington (Macy); a great-niece, Millie Kate Arrington, a great-nephew, Shepard Arrington; several cousins, aunts and uncles.


            The family would like to express their appreciation to caretakers, Dan Golden, Pat Roberts, Kimberly Wright, and the Southeast Alabama Home Health Care, for the kindness shown to Mr. Stewart during his illness. He was also lovingly cared for by his mother for most of his adult lifetime.
