Doorother Hill, Sr. 78, a resident of Dothan, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2015 at a local nursing home.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Hill was born on November 20, 1937 in Headland, AL and lived there the early years of his life. He moved to Dothan in 1968 and was employed with Couch Construction until 1997. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved fixing things around the house and he was skilled at homebuilding and home remodeling. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Viola Hill; and grandchildren, Anethera West and Victoria Hill; four brothers and a sister.

Survivors include his wife, Cubie Hill; his sons, James Earl (Eva) Hill, Dorother Hill, Jr.; Gary Lorenzo (Katrina) Hill and Milton Gregory Hill; his daughters, Dorothy Jean Thornton, Virginia Lee Morgan, Lovell (Johnny) Caple, Sherian (Earl) Lawrence, Lawanda (Michael) Hill and Angela Christina Hill; 31 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; his brother, Willie James Hill; his sisters, Bonnie Mae Hill, Minnie Ola Brown and Viretta McNealy.
