Doris Elizabeth Jerkins passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at her home in Enterprise, surrounded by her family.  She was 83.


Funeral services will be at 2:00 Saturday, September 12, 2015 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise with Reverend Huey Anderson and Reverend Cliff Quincey officiating.  Burial will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery in Clayhatchee with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.


Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 223 W. Gregory Street, Pensacola, FL 32502.


Doris was born August 12, 1932, in Columbus, Georgia, to the late Kermit and Maggie Ruth Wilson Granberry.  She was a member of Faith Assembly of God.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Kenneth Jerkins; sisters, Claudia Smith, Ann Brown, and Peggy Boyer; and a son-in-law, Winston (Red) Qualls.


Survivors include a brother, Kermit D. “Sonny” Granberry (Marie); sisters-in-law, Betty Sue Hall (Jerry) and Katherine Fulford; a brother-in-law, Ray Jerkins; children, Debra Qualls of Enterprise, Patricia Watson (Wayland) of New Brockton, Martie Allums of Daleville, Sheila Bogle of Enterprise, Teresa McInnis (Mike) of Enterprise, Rachel Cothern (Ricky) of Coffee Springs, Kenny Jerkins of Enterprise, Carolyn Kyser of Enterprise; grandchildren, Willie Qualls, Tricia Long (Bo), Dana Qualls, Kennedie Qualls, Tracy Mock (Charlie), Jennifer Sheffield (Justin Tisdale), Jason Qualls (Janice), Bubba Grantham, Claudia DuBose (Tim), Stacy Jungell (Donald), April Cothern, Ricky J. Cothern Jr., and Ashley Jerkins; 17 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.


Our mama was loving and caring.  She loved life and loved her family.  She is in heaven with daddy now, and we know she is happy.  She touched our lives in so many ways and taught us so many lessons.  Our lives will never be the same without her.  We love you mama.
