ABBEVILLE, ALABAMA. . .Doris Peck Schoonover, a resident of Abbeville, Alabama, died Monday morning, May 17, 2021, in the Henry County Health & Rehabilitation Facility. She was 90.
Graveside services will be held in the Carolina Memorial Gardens in Charleston, South Carolina. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of local arrangements
Mrs. Schoonover was born in Braselton, Georgia, daughter of the late Floyd Young Peck and Mamie Cora Tanner Peck. She lived in Charleston, SC before moving to Henry County, Alabama in 2016. She was formerly employed by Camp High Hopes in Charleston, SC. Mrs. Schoonover was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wayne Schoonover, an infant son, Tommy Schoonover, a grandson, Travis Potter, a sister, Ilene Vaughan, and two brothers, George Peck and Charles Peck.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Charlotte Copeland, Summerville, SC; and Ellen Potter (Terry), Abbeville, AL; a son, John Grant (Becky), Manassas, VA; four grandchildren, Terry Potter, Jr. (Patty), Tony Potter (Jamie), Tim Copeland, and Wayne Copeland; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
