Mrs. Dorothy Aycock Morgan, beloved wife of the late Marvin Morgan of Samson, Alabama went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 25, 2014. She was 78. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2014 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Randall Pearson and Rev. Elbert Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Eden Baptist Church Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Morgan was born February 12, 1936 in Geneva, Alabama to the late Ralph Aycock and Ella Ruth Carter Aycock. She was a member of Eden Baptist Church of Geneva. She had a love for reading, working in her flower and vegetable gardens. But most of all everyone that knew her will remember her for her faith and dedication to God, her strong work ethics, and for being a loving wife and homemaker, mother, friend and neighbor.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin Morgan and one daughter; Betty Morgan Varner of Andalusia, Alabama.
Survivors include: one son, Billy Ray Morgan of Samson, AL; one daughter, Linda Morgan Stanley (Chuck) of Westville, FL; one grandchild: Hunter Morgan of Largo, FL; five brothers and 4 sisters: Sarah Aycock Morgan; Hazel Aycock McGowan, (Dykes); Sandra Aycock Merchant, (James Donald); Lamar Aycock, (Sue); Don Aycock, all of Samson, AL; Robert Aycock, (Carolyn) Geneva, AL; Guy Aycock, (Betty) Lumberton, MS; Roland Aycock, Opp, AL; Grace Aycock Adkison, (Leon), Enterprise, AL; and a large extended family and lifelong good friends
Serving as pallbearers: Heath Morgan, Jake Ingalls, Hunter Morgan, Paul Revels, Bobby Revels and Dwight Carter.
