DOTHAN…Dorothy Bowden Watson (Dot), age 95, a former resident  of Dothan, Alabama, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021, at her son’s home in Loganville, Georgia surrounded by her family.

Dorothy, also known as MomaDot, was born March 27, 1926 in Houston County to the late Howard E. and Lucille Grant Bowden. MomaDot enjoyed spending time with family, friends and especially her grandchildren. Dot was also a fixture for many years at the Shriners Club in Dothan playing bingo with friends.

Dot was preceded in death by her husband Franklin Edwin “Ed” Watson. She is survived by her son, Jimmy Watson and wife Betty of Loganville, GA; her daughter, Gloria Bonner of Hoover, AL; grandchildren, Ed Watson and wife Shannon of Hoschton, GA; Kimberly Watson Moulder and husband Brad of Lawrenceville, NJ; and Amanda Morgan and husband Jarrod of Hoover, AL; seven great-grandchildren, Caleb and Colten Watson, Aaron and Eliza Moulder, and Maddie, Lizzie, and Charlotte Morgan. She was loved by numerous nieces and nephews that knew her as Aunt Dot.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Bowden and Howard Bowden, Jr., and one sister, Betty Kingry. She is survived by one sister, Margaret Male.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. (CST) Wednesday, November 24, 2021, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel in Headland, AL, with Reverend Dannie Reed officiating. The family will receive family and friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. (CST) Wednesday in the mortuary chapel.

Interment services will follow in the Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery, Highway 134 East, between Headland and Columbia. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, MomaDot be honored with contributions to Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery Fund,  c/o Edwin Glover, 6952 State Highway 134, East, Columbia, AL 36319.
