Dorothy Lee Cotton Driggers of the Eden Baptist Church Community passed away Monday, July 09, 2018 at the age of 92.


Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the Chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Dale Morgan and Rev. Tim Beasock officiating. Burial will follow in the Eden Baptist Church Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home directing.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday and continue until Funeral time.  


Mrs. Driggers was born October 6, 1925, in Geneva County Alabama, to the late Lonnie D. and Epsy Lee Curry Cotton.  She was a member of the Eden Baptist Church since the early 1950’s, retired after 45 plus years from Clinton Mills formerly known as Geneva Cotton Mill. She attended Open Pond School and was raised on a truck farm, off Goat Hill Rd near Sandy Creek, selling vegetables to area stores. She along with her father and brothers owned and operated Cotton’s Grocery in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.  She loved fishing and growing things in her garden.


In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Malvin Benjamin “Buck” Driggers, five brothers; Linnie “Don”, Jimmy “Ray”, Robert “Dorman”, James “Dalton” and “Nathan” Doyle Cotton, and one sister; “Peggy” Pauline Cotton.


She is survived by her son; Anthony “Tony” and Johnnie H. Driggers of Northport, Alabama; three grandchildren; Erin Driggers Osborn (Chris) of Taylor, Texas; Matthew Driggers, Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Benjamin Driggers of Huntsville, Alabama; one great-grandchild; Griffin Osborn, and one brother; Henry “Carl” Cotton of Freeport, Florida.
