Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Park Funeral Home in Dothan, AL and Heritage Funeral Home in Moss Point, MS. The visitation will be Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa, MS . Funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel beginning at noon with Brother Steve Cirlot officiating. Interment will be held at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula, MS.

Dorothy Elizabeth King Britt, formerly of Moss Point, MS passed away quietly at home with family and friends on May 26, 2022 in Dothan, Alabama.
Dorothy was born in Dovesville, South Carolina on August 2, 1929, grew up in Toccoa, GA and moved to Moss Point, MS when she married Clyde Edward Britt, her husband of 68 years. Together they enjoyed church, family, friends, traveling, baseball, and fishing, to name a few interests. Dorothy retired from Sears and Roebuck after 20 years.
She is preceded in death by her father, Junnie Harden King (1981) and mother, Grace Inez White King of Helena, MS (1932) and stepmother Eunice Alverta Vice King of Helena, MS (1986.) Her sister Grace Louise Eaddy lives in Florence, South Carolina. Following the death of her mother, Dorothy lived with her great aunt, Edith Hitt and her children, Elizabeth, George, and Ongie in Toccoa, GA. She has fond memories of the years in Toccoa and considers Betty, George, and Ongie her siblings and Edith she called “mama.”
Dorothy and Clyde had two children, Clyde E. Britt, II (Ann) and Theresa Inez Britt Turner (Sibley) and dearly loved their grandchildren and great grandchildren: Shelley Kristina Britt Hannon (Dan) – Jacob Zachary and Elijah Daniel; Christopher Marc Britt – Jase Britt; Lauren Elizabeth Turner (Bill), Lindsey Anne Turner (Troy) – Taylor Lynn Olvey, Grady Neel Truett, Casey King Truett and Mary Kathryn Turner Bates (Will.)
Special thanks to Enhabit Hospice and caregivers Tonia May, Valerie Reeves, Brenda Barnes, Betty Starling, January Corbitt, Whitney Young, Mondella Tullis, but most of all her friend and confidant Pearleen Corbitt.
