Dorothy Eunita “Ms. Dot” German of Bertha Community passed away Friday, February 15, 2013, at Flowers Hospital.  She was 76.


Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 18, 2013, at Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Billy Gaither and Rev. Forrest Weekley officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, February 17, at Bethel United Methodist Church.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Bethel UMC Cemetery Fund.


Dot was born April 7, 1936 in Dale County, Alabama, daughter of Henry Clayton and Eula Mae Aman Faust.  September 5, 1954 she married John Franklin “Hootie” German at the Echo Parsonage.  She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.  “Ms. Dot” was employed by Dale County Board of Education and drove the school bus for 43 years.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 1995.


Survivors include two daughters:  Joannae (Larry) Williams of Ozark and Zonia Lynn German of Bertha Community; three grandsons:  Jared Clinton (Kacey) Williams of Dothan, Justin Craig Williams of Ozark, and Jeremy Lynn (Candace Brooke) German of Bertha Community; one granddaughter, Zahnae Jamae German of Bertha Community; one great-granddaughter, Jayden Presley Williams of Dothan; two great-grandsons:  Landon John & Lawson Jae German of Bertha Community; one brother William Eddie (Ruby Jo) Faust of Lynn Haven, FL; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great nieces.
