Dorothy Jane Brackin of Webb, Alabama passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014.She was 87. Dorothy was born August 11, 1927 in Providence Rhode Island to Edwin and Evelyn Palmer.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Bluff Springs Baptist Church with Reverend Dennis Singletary and Reverend LaDon Brackin officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 6, 2014. The family will be accepting flowers or contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Foundation.
Dorothy was a longtime member of Bluff Springs Baptist Church. She was actively involved with Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames, an honorary member of United Daughters of the Confederacy, and Hall of Fame member of Masters Games of Alabama.
Dorothy is preceded in death by, her husband James W. “Shorty” Brackin, Grandson, Christopher Kent Brackin, Brother Edwin K. Palmer.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Kathi Faulk (Venston) of Webb, Al., Sons James W. Brackin (Mary) of Fairfax, VA, Ernest “Butch” K. Brackin (Betty) of Leroy, Al., grandchildren, Eric K. Brackin (Chastity) of Marietta, GA, James W. Brackin III of Fairfax, VA, Jonathan W. Brackin (Rhiannon) of Fairhope, Al., Kristi L Faulk (Wayne Clark) of Ashford, Al., Whitney N. Faulk of Marianna, Fl., Great grandchildren, Briggs Christopher Brackin and Anna Claire Clark.
Pallbearers will be: Eric K. Brackin, James W. Brackin III., Jonathan W. Brackin, Donald Bedsole, B. Wilson Brackin and Gary V. Brackin.
