Dorothy Madelene Vines Smithart of Geneva, AL passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. She was 80 years old.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Long Branch Baptist Church Cemetery in Red Level, AL with Rev. Steve Skidmore and Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing.

Dorothy was born in Winnfield, LA on August 9, 1941 to the late Albert and Dorothy Harvey Vines. Mrs. Smithart was a devoted pastor’s wife. She taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and played the piano for various churches.  

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Billy Smithart, Sr.; and one brother, Doyle Vines.

She is survived by one son, Billy Smithart (Stacy) of Geneva, AL; one daughter, Dorothy Annette Garret (David) of Ft. Payne, AL; four grandchildren, Shelby Smithart and Luke Smithart both of Geneva, AL, Ian Carber, and Aaron Carber both of Ft. Payne, AL.
