Dorothy O’Malley Roberts, 93, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2024.  Born on January 14th, 1931, Dot lived a full and vibrant life from beginning to end and touched the lives of many, many people along the way.

The family is holding a funeral service to celebrate Dot’s life on Friday, August 23, 2024 at 2:00 PM at College Avenue Church of Christ in Enterprise, Alabama.  Burial will follow Meadowlawn Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM continuing until service time.

Her family and children were her calling and passion.  She raised a strong, beautiful daughter and two rambunctious, adventurous boys.  She coached soccer and cheerfully attended countless football games, karate practices, and band events to show her love and support for her kids.

She met the love of her life, Charles “Bud” Roberts in Sheffield, Alabama. They married in 1948 and lived most of their lives in Tuscumbia and then Enterprise, Alabama.

She spent many years as a supportive and loving military wife as Bud was in the Navy and then the Army Reserve.  She and Bud proudly supported their son Dale as he served in the 101st Airborne U.S. Army.  They both loved simple afternoons relaxing on a porch swing and laughing with friends and family.  They strongly supported the Deshler Tigers, the Mississippi State Bulldogs, and the Atlanta Braves.

They both served God with the congregation of College Avenue Church of Christ for about 30 years.  We encourage you to consider a donation to one of the following church ministries in lieu of flowers:  Agape Adoption Services, Camp Wiregrass, and/or Asian Christian University.  Please call College Avenue Church of Christ (334) 393-1465 for more information or to make a donation at (334) 347-8917, https://enterprisechurch.com/, or [email protected].

Dot leaves behind two loving sons, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by Luther O’Malley (father), Alma Elliot (mother), Charles “Bud” Roberts (husband of 66 years), and Dianne Grimmitt (daughter).
