DOROTHY  SCOTT  TEW


 


WEBB…..Dorothy Scott Tew, a resident of Webb, died Sunday morning, February 9, 2014, at her home. She was 67.


            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 12, 2014, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Hosea Parker and Reverend Garner Wood officiating. Burial will follow in the Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery in Dothan. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the mortuary in Headland.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2346 West Main Street, Suite 3, Dothan, AL 36301.


            Mrs. Tew was born to the late Cary Scott and her surviving mother, Ellen Roney Scott on May 5, 1946. She is a member of the Old Webb Road Baptist Church and director of the Timeless Treasures of the church and also participated in the Webb Senior Citizens. Mrs. Tew was retired from the Dothan City School System at Highlands Elementary as the Child Nutritionist Manager after twenty-five years employment. Dorothy was preceded in death by a very special brother, LaDon Scott.


            Surviving relatives include her husband of forty-eight years, Jerry Tew; two daughters, Drenea York (Ed), and Alicia Sims (Stan); five grandchildren, Raye York, Robert York (Elysia), Alexis Sims, and Ansley Sims, all of Webb; sisters-in-law, Reba Scott, Dothan; and Eloise Elliott, Webb; an aunt, Willie Pearl Carpenter, Columbia and an uncle, Mark Scott, Dothan.
