Dorothy W. Layton

Mrs. Dorothy W. Layton of Enterprise passed away Friday evening, May 8, 2015 at Flowers Hospital.  She was 87.

 

Funeral services will be 3:00pm Monday, May 11, 2015 from the Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel in Enterprise with Rev. Shawn Crosby officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadowlawn cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday beginning at 1:00pm and continuing until service time.

 

Mrs. Layton was born March 4, 1928 in Dale County, Alabama to the late James Franklin and Bernice Dunaway Waters. She was a lifelong member of the First Assembly of God Church in Enterprise.

 

In addition to her parents, her husband, Robert O. Layton, 2 sons, James R. Layton and Robert L. Layton, a granddaughter, Cindy Posey as well as a brother, James Curtis Waters all preceded her in death.

 

Survivors include her son, David Layton (Gail), Level Plains, 1 sister: Patricia Fuller (Leon), Level Plains, 1 brother: Walter Louis Waters (Wanda), Level Plains, 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.   

 

Flowers will be accepted or contributions could be made to the First Assembly of God Church in Enterprise or to your favorite charity in memory of Mrs. Layton.
