FT. GAINES, GEORGIA… Douglas Michael (Mick) Anderson, a resident of Ft. Gaines, Georgia, died early Thursday morning, September 20, 2012, at his home.  He was 60.


            Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. (EDT), Saturday, September 22, 2012, in the Ft. Gaines Woman’s Club with Reverend Randy Stokes officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Clay County Library, P.O. Box 275, Ft. Gaines, Georgia, 39851.


            Mr. Anderson was a native of Owensboro, Kentucky and moved to Ft. Gaines with his family in 1958. He was retired as a Vice President of Anderson Construction Company of Ft. Gaines. Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Von Anderson, his mother, Merry Cargal Anderson, and his step-mother, Muriel (Mo) Mobley Anderson.


            Surviving relatives include two daughters, Amy Anderson Mulkey and her husband, Dan Mulkey, Blakely, GA; and Allyson Anderson, Quincy, FL; a son, Matthew Anderson, Ft. Gaines, GA; a grandson, Lucas Anderson Mulkey, three sisters, Gay Anderson Wright and her husband, Frank Wright, Birmingham; Kevin Anderson Baxley and her husband, Tom Baxley, Blakely, GA; and Dr. Joy Anderson Brown and her husband, Dr. David Brown, Watkinsville, GA; two brothers, Jerry Anderson and his wife, Sally Anderson, Eufaula; and Chuck Anderson, Atlanta.
