Dovie “Deat” Lingo, 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at Flowers Hospital. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness. 

Dovie was born May 21, 1939, in Clio, Alabama, to the late Judge H. & Minnie Mae (Phillips) Martin. She spent her early childhood years growing up in Donalsonville, GA before moving the Dothan area. Mrs. Lingo worked many years as a skilled and dedicated production worker & would later retire from London International Group in 1998. 
She enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners, road trips, playing bingo, and family gatherings. Dovie devoted her whole life to loving and caring for her children and grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, three husbands, Little John “Bo” Temples, William Billy Cain, and James Lingo; her daughter, Vicki Rabon, and granddaughter, Kimberly Rabon as well as five sisters and two brothers. 

She leaves behind her beloved two sons, Billy Temples of Dothan and Donald Temples (Tashiea) of Enterprise; five grandchildren, Mark Temples (Christina), April Walker, Devin Temples, Dalton Temples, and Paxton Temples; and four great-grandchildren, Tyler Temples, Kimberly Walker, Rosalee Walker and Laniah Temples.
  Dovie is also survived by her sister, Shirley Hobbs of Slocomb, and brother James Martin (Mary) of Dothan; as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends. 

A celebration of Dovie’s life will be held Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Fowler Family Funeral Home in Dothan, AL. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am, service at 11:00am with Reverends Michael Gibson & Matthew Vickers officiating, followed by her final resting place in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Headland, AL. 

As per Dovie’s request, serving as an ‘All Girl Team’ of pall bearers are Tashiea Temples, Christina Temples, April Walker, Kimberly Walker, & Rosalee Walker.


In lieu of flowers the family asks that monetary donations be made to Fowler Family Funeral Home to cover funeral expenses since there was no insurance.
