Webb. . .Doyle H. Kirkland, a resident of Webb, died Thursday night, June 22, 2017, at his home. He was 83.

            Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 26, 2017, in the Webb Cemetery with Reverend Steve Scarborough and Reverend Joel Laseter officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the mortuary in Headland.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Webb Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 70, Webb, AL 36376.

            Mr. Kirkland was born in Houston County and was reared in Webb, son of the late Cecil Kirkland and Irene Bullock Kirkland. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Kirkland was a member of the Webb Baptist Church. He retired from Dothan Auto Parts, and in earlier years was employed by Johnston Auto Parts. Mr. Kirkland formerly served as Mayor of Webb and as a member of the Town Council. He was an active participant in the Webb Senior Center. Mr. Kirkland was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Keel.

            Surviving relatives include his wife, Betty Chambliss Kirkland; a daughter, Doyla McLaney (Michael), and a son, Brian Kirkland, a granddaughter, Michaia McLaney, all of Webb; a sister, Gayle Walker (Jerry), and a brother, Mack Kirkland (Rebecca), all of Dothan; several nieces and nephews.
