Dr. Joe Selman Watson, 88, of Enterprise, AL passed away Monday, October 10, 2016 in Flowers Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 13, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Enterprise with Dr. Bill Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday beginning at 9:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 302 N. Main St., Enterprise, AL 36330 or to Damascus Baptist Church Dream Fund, 774 County Road 547, Elba, AL 36323.
Dr. Watson was a graduate of Auburn University and UAB Dental School. He was a deacon at First Baptist Church and a member of the adult choir. He was known for his love for the Enterprise Wildcats and the Auburn Tigers, he was an avid outdoorsman, above all was his love for God and his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Watson and his brother, Hob Watson.
Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Shelton (Andy) Enterprise; a son, Rev. Steve Watson (Tama) Damascus Community; grandchildren, Bradley Watson (Jennifer) Enterprise; Christie Trawick (Jeremy) Enterprise; Wesley Watson (Laci) Pageland, SC; Ashley Graham (Williams) Aberdeen, NC; Drew Shelton, Enterprise; Chandler Watson, Damascus Community; great-grandchildren, Bryce Watson; Zion Chapel; Brayden Watson, Zion Chapel ; Madi Rose Kyser, Enterprise; Canyon Watson, Jackson, AL; Colt Trawick; Enterprise; Bates Trawick, Enterprise; Jed Watson, Pageland, SC; Wyatt Graham, Aberdeen, NC; sister-in-law, Marjorie Watson; niece Gina Reynolds; nephews, Greg and Gary Watson.
The Deacons of First Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
