Dr. Preston Delano Rosser, a resident of Newton, Alabama, died Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at his home. He was 86 years old.
Funeral services will be graveside 2:00 P. M.Friday, May 31, 2024, in Newton City Cemetery with Reverend Sam Williams officiating. Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Dr. Preston Delano Rosser was born April 1, 1938 in Newton , Alabama to the late Thomas Gerstle “Big Daddy” Rosser and Nettie “Bubba” McKnight Rosser. He attended Auburn University and graduated from Troy University with a Bachelor’s Degree and later earned his Doctorate from Nova University. He served in the United States Air Force. He settled in Orlando, Florida where he lived until his retirement from Valencia Community College as Director of Financial Aid and Veterans Affairs. He returned home to Newton after his retirement to care for his parents. He loved to play golf, go fishing and spend time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Paul A. “Don” Rosser. Survivors include his son, Drew Rosser; his daughter, Marla Bowler; grandchildren, Regan Rosser, Claire Rosser, Erika Hoffner-Martin and Naomi Hoffner; and his brother, Thomas Gerstle Rosser, Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to your favorite charity.
