Dr. Trudy Lee Breznik, known to her patients as Dr. Goldman, a beacon of light and hope, passed away on April 14, 2023, in Newton, Alabama, after a long and courageous battle with an extended illness. Born on June 23, 1956, in Pennsylvania, Trudy’s life was an inspiring journey of selflessness, generosity, and love, leaving a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A gifted and compassionate pediatrician, Trudy earned her medical degree from the prestigious Tulane University. Her passion for healing transcended borders as she embarked on numerous self-funded medical mission trips to Nepal, touching countless lives and nurturing hope in the hearts of those in need. Trudy’s unwavering commitment to her patients and the medical profession exemplified her loving and generous spirit. Trudy’s interests extended beyond her professional pursuits, as she found solace and strength in her love for yoga, health, and wellness. Her life was a testament to the power of resilience and the human spirit, as she navigated the challenges and triumphs of her journey with grace and humility. Trudy is survived by her loving family, including her son, James Goldman (Leah Rushing); her daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Niki Maddox (Dr. Joshua Maddox); her cherished grandchildren, Kurlin Maddox and Sterling Goldman; her sister, Penny Cole (David); and her former husband, Fred Goldman (Laura Jasper). Each of these relationships was a testament to the depth of Trudy’s love and the breadth of her impact.
