Durwood Nelson age 79, a residence of Elba, Alabama passed away Sunday, April 12, 2020 at his home, surrounded by family. Due to the threat of Covid-19, graveside services will be held at Antioch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 beginning at 2:00 PM with Rev. Elbert Smith officiating. Burial will follow with Hayes Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at their home beginning on Tuesday, April 14th, from 3:00 PM until the service on Wednesday.

Mr. Nelson is survived by his Wife - Linda Sue Nelson, Elba, AL, Son - Donald (Kim) Green, Brundidge, AL, Son - Scott (Danielle) Nelson, Elba, AL, Daughter - Dena (Eli) Praytor, Elba, AL, and Daughter - Dawn Nelson also of Elba, Alabama. He also is survived by Grandchildren - Shane (Anna) Nelson, Cassandra Nelson, Nikki Nelson, & Ryan (Brooklyn) Nelson, along with Great Grandchildren - Jordan Donaldson, Serenity Donaldson, Annabelle Nelson, Kaiden Nelson, Desmond Williams, Mason Maddox, & Myles Williams. He also leaves behind Brother - Waylon Nelson, Elba, AL, Brother - James (Glenda) Nelson, Elba, AL, a Sister - Janie (Phillip) Little, Elba, AL, along with numerous Nieces & Nephews.
