Dwight D. Patrick of Ozark, AL passed away Saturday, May 16, 2020 at his home. He was 71.
After his graduation from Carroll High School in 1967, Dwight served in the Alabama National Guard, 131st Armor Tank Battalion. He was a Letter Carrier with the Postal Service for several years until his retirement. Dwight was also a licensed Auctioneer and a member of the Alabama Cattleman’s Association and the NRA. His passion was for gaited horses and fast cars. He was an avid gardener and took pride in maintaining his yard and flowers for all to enjoy.
Because of his hard work and dedication to his family home, Patrick Farm (est.1913) received the distinction of being named an Alabama Century and Heritage Farm in 2013.
Dwight was an active member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2020 from 10-11:00 AM at Patrick Farm, 2506 North County Road 21, Ozark, AL with lunch and fellowship immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
Survivors include his beloved “Missy”, Pat Peters, Enterprise, AL; daughter, Christy Patrick Riemens-Van Laare (Greg), Ozark, AL; 2 sons, Scotty Patrick (Amanda), Enterprise, AL, Donny Patrick (Season), Aurora, CO; sister, Sherry Jamelle Deloney (David), Ozark, AL; brother, David Patrick (Carol), Eufaula, AL; grandson, Logan Riemens-Van Laare; the mother of his children, Brenda Patrick, Ozark, AL; a niece and 3 nephews; and special family members, Luke, Brooke and Adalee Peters; and Jennifer Riemens-Van Laare.
