MIDLAND CITY. . . Earl Clarence Culpepper, a resident of Midland City, died late Thursday night, January 12, 2023, at his home. He was 90.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, January 15, 2023, in the Corinth Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Jason Miller and Reverend S. E. Newberry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. Saturday at the mortuary in Headland.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Corinth Free Will Baptist Church “Building Fund”, P.O. Box 715, Midland City, AL 36350.
Mr. Culpepper was born in Houston County, son of the late Clarence Preston Culpepper and Ruby Hartzog Culpepper. He lived in the Sylvan Grove community before moving to the Corinth community in 1960. Mr. Culpepper was an active member of the Corinth Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for over fifty years. He was also a member of the Dale County Cattlemen’s Association and formerly served on the Dale County Farmers Federation Board. Mr. Culpepper was engaged in farming all his lifetime. He was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Ella Grace McAdams, sisters, Nettie Blanchard, Mabel Hayes, Myrtle Hodges, an infant sister, a brother, Lamar Culpepper and his son-in-law, Perry Stevens.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Loretta Taylor Culpepper, a daughter, Linda Culpepper Stevens, a son, William Earl Culpepper (Tammy), all of Midland City; a sister, Betty Chamberlain, Jacksonville, Arkansas; and a brother, Bill Culpepper (Marlene), Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, Tommy Stevens (Stephanie), Carrie Stevens, Michael Stevens (Alana), Beth Miller (Mike), and Michelle McAdams (Matthew); great-grandchildren, John, Jeff, Preston, Perri Ann, Isabella, Ansley, Ray, Trenton, Rowan and Lincoln; several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be the grandsons and great-grandsons.
