Mr. Earl Day Biddle of Samson, Alabama passed away Friday, May 26, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 86.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Reese Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Branch officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10 a.m.
Mr. Biddle was born in Talladega, AL on January 30, 1937 to the late Martin Day and Annie Bell Freeman Biddle. Mr. Earl was in the timber industry, predominantly pulpwood logging for most of his adult life. In his younger years, he worked in the sawmills, farmed and worked in the peanut mill. He believed in hard work and raised his family with a strong work ethic. Most of all, he loved his wife, children, grandchildren, watching westerns and listening to country music, especially Hank Williams, SR.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one great granddaughter, Madilyn Rogers; one brother, Ralph Biddle; four sisters, Julene Biddle, Frances Mattson, Lena Mae Gurly and Mary Grace Hill.
Mr. Earl is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Ada Biddle; one daughter, April Weeks (Franklin) all of Samson; two sons, David Biddle of Enterprise, AL and Glen Biddle (Susan) of Brooklyn, AL; grandchildren, David Day Biddle, Jason Biddle (Casey) all of Enterprise, AL, Jenny Smith (Jonathan) of Opp, AL, Glen “Bo” Biddle (Terri) of Andalusia, AL, Shon Biddle (BJ) of Brewton, AL, Bonnie Simmons (Jimmy) of Hartford, AL, Jessica Weeks, Emily Harris (Joshua), Jimmy Franklin , Timmy Franklin, all of Samson, AL, Randy Franklin (Danielle) of Bonifay, FL, Brandy Deleon (Wilmer) of Wimauma, FL; 32 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; three siblings, Gene Biddle (Elaine) of Dothan, AL, Buddy Biddle of Gritney, FL, Sarah Bryant (Sam) of Westville, FL; special friend and brother-in-law, William Stafford of Gibson, FL and a host of special nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
