A private graveside service will be held on March 22nd, 2023, at Sunset Memorial Park Funeral Home in Midland City, AL. Earlene will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Dothan Botanical Gardens.








Earlene Sims Darley was born on June 28, 1931, in Holmes County, Florida. Earlene passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on March 20, 2023. She was 91 years old.


Earlene was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many auxiliary leadership positions throughout her life.



Additionally, Earlene was known for her love of gardening and was a master gardener. In honor of this passion, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Dothan Botanical Gardens. Earlene's legacy will continue to live on through the beauty of the gardens and the memories she created with her loved ones.



She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Beatrice Sims, her brother, Hilton Sims, her husband, James Wesley Darley Jr, and her great grandson, Beckett Burkhardt.

Earlene is survived by her sister, Naomi Mitchell; children, Beverly (Tony) Shelley, Joseph (Nancy) Darley, Wesley (Faye) Darley, Carol (Ed) Aycock, and Ben (Tami) Darley; 16 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
