Mr. Earnest Wayne “Bill” Warren, Sr. of the Goathill Community of Samson, Alabama passed away May 30, 2022 at the age of 82.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 02, 2022 in the Chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral in Geneva, Alabama with the Rev. Danny Branch and Rev. Ron Thames officiating. The eulogy will be delivered by his niece, Lucinda Sumner Johnson. Burial will follow in the Liberty Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home directing. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Thursday and continue until funeral time.
Mr. Bill was born July 29, 1939 in Geneva County Alabama to the late James Sullivan and Edna Sue Thames Warren. He worked many long hours alongside his wife, Mrs. Martha to make a successful business of the Samson IGA. Bill retired from the grocery industry in 2015 at the age of 76 after being in business in Samson for 60 years. In his earlier years, Bill enjoyed raising cattle and planting a huge garden. He was a life-long faithful member of Liberty Chapel Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Sharon Marsh Warren.
He is survived by two sons: Wayne Warren (Amy Taylor) and David Warren and wife Karen; five grandchildren: Shea Warren Berry (Blake), Hayden Warren (Hannah Hogan), Heath Warren (Kace), Holly Warren, and Heidi Warren; four great grandchildren: Hailey and Bailey Berry, Tillie Warren, Hadley Warren; Amy’s children: Tyler and Tierra Bowers and their children, Emerald, Jayden (“Cottontop”), and Colter; Austin and Mickayla Bowers and their children, Maverick, Addison, and Allison; one sister, Betty Sumner; two brothers, Bobby and Peggy Warren, and Donny and Jawona Warren; and a number of very special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A special “thank you” to Southern Care Hospice for the devoted care given to our father, especially Joshua Manning, Stephanie Wiggins, Jamie Wilks and many others that crossed our path.
Also, our sincere and heartfelt appreciation goes out to Jean Mock, Brenda McCall, Hosea Robinson, and Brittney Harrell for your devoted caregiving these last few months. You were truly a blessing beyond words.
