EDDIE  COPELAND  HANCOCK,  JR.




            Eddie Copeland Hancock, Jr., a resident of Kosovo, died August 29, 2013, in the Amerikan Hospital in Tirana, Albania. He was 66.


            Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, September 16, 2013, in the Pilgrim's Rest Free Will Baptist Church, near Abbeville, with Reverend Frank C. Ellis, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M.  Monday in the church sanctuary.


            Mr. Hancock was born in Los Angeles, California and formerly lived in Abbeville and Ozark. He had been employed as an aircraft mechanic with Dyncorp in Saudi Arabia, Germany, Macedonia and Kosovo. Mr. Hancock also served his country in the Marines during the Vietnam War era.  He was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Copeland Hancock.


            Surviving relatives include his wife, Ruth Harris Hancock, Ozark; a daughter, Dr. Heather Hancock Nabors and husband, Mike, Madison, Mississippi; two sons, Bill Hancock, Birmingham, and Daniel Hancock, Ozark; his mother, Thelma Cummings Hancock, Abbeville.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Wayne Money, Darren Sanchez, Bruce Hancock, Dempsey Barefield, Bill Hancock, and Daniel Hancock.
