Eddie Grace Bryant of Enterprise, Alabama passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022.  She was 86.                   


Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Sorrells Funeral Home in Enterprise with Reverend Ben Bowden officiating.  Burial will follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continue until time of service.  Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Enterprise Building Fund, 302 North Main Street, Enterprise, Alabama. 


Mrs. Bryant was born in the Holt community of Irwin County, Georgia on July 7, 1935 to the late Ed and Sara Tyson Grantham.  After graduating from Ocilla High School in 1953, Grace moved to Douglas, Georgia where she attained her Secretarial Certificate from South Georgia College; her first job was at the Coffee County Chamber of Commerce.  She met Betty Jo Bryant who introduced her to her brother, Carlie E. Bryant, Jr.  They dated for a very short time and married on December 4, 1955. 


Once married they lived in Fort Jackson, South Carolina and began a 20 year military career that took them all over the country to include 3 years in France.  During this time Grace worked with Civil Service.  They moved to Enterprise, Alabama in 1973 and have lived there since.  She retired at Fort Rucker after working 25 years in civil service.  She was active in First Baptist Church Enterprise as well as past president of Retired Officer’s Wives Association. 


In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sons, Carlie “Butch” E. Bryant III, and Anthony J. Bryant.  Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Carlie E. Bryant, Jr.; sister, Katherine Griffin of Lake City, Florida; sister-in-law, Betty Joe Holden; grandchildren, Cole Bryant, Tabitha Bryant, and Tyler Bryant; great-grandchildren, Alex Bryant, Rodney Lamont, and Sabrina Lamont; nephews, Wade Griffin and Jerry Holden; and niece, Debbie Griffin.  Grace was a loving wife and helpmate to Carlie, loving mother to Butch and Tony, Grandmother to Cole and Tabitha, and Great-Grandmother to Alex.
