EDDIE GUS GLOVER
MIDLAND CITY. . . Eddie Gus Glover, a resident of Midland City, died early Friday morning, August 10, 2012, at his home. He was 57.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 12, 2012, in the Holman Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Jerry Glover officiating. Burial will follow in the Daleville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. Saturday at the mortuary in Headland.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, AL 36302.
Mr. Glover was a native of Newton where he lived most of his lifetime before moving to Midland City five years ago. He was formerly employed in maintenance by the Mikie Walding Company. In earlier years, he was self-employed as a concrete finisher and also co-owned and operated, with his son, Glover and Son, Inc., a backhoe and dump truck service. Mr. Glover was preceded in death by his father, Gus Glover, Jr.
Surviving relatives include his loving wife and companion of forty years, Barbara Holton Glover, Newton; a daughter, Kimberly Michelle Skipper (Marc Adams), Headland; two sons, Eddie Gus Glover, Jr., and Floyd Brett Glover (Rhonda), all of Midland City; his mother, Merle Hartzog Glover, Midland City; four sisters, Sharon Dickerson (Jimmy), Ozark; Sue Gilley and Judy Beasley, and Janet Walding (Mikie, Jr.), all of Midland City; a brother, Steve Glover (Susie), Dothan; four grandchildren, Alexa Glover, Hunter Skipper, Vince Seagers and Derrik Seagers; several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Micheal Walding, Mason Walding, Brad Beasley, T. J. Richards, Leon Minor and Steven Rutledge.
