EVANS, GEORGIA. . .Edith Louise Killebrew Latimer, a resident of Evans, Georgia, entered into rest on Saturday, October 6th at Doctor’s Hospital in Augusta, Georgia.



            Family graveside services will be held in Ft. Gaines, Georgia.



            In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church Preschool or Covenant Presbyterian Church Music Program, 3131 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30909.



            Mrs. Latimer was born to Edgar Turner Killebrew, Sr. and Anne Long Wood Killebrew on January 30, 1920 in Henry County, Alabama. A retired school teacher, she taught in Alabama, Atlanta and Augusta. “Granny”, as she was known to all, delighted in teaching and visiting with young children. Mrs. Latimer was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Augusta. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Albert Jackson Latimer, Jr. and her brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Mishie Killebrew.



            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Anne Latimer Handley, a son, Jonathan Latimer (Lynn), a brother, Edgar Turner Killebrew, Jr. (Gussye), a sister in law, Nelle Latimer Lloyd. Grandchildren include Leanne Massey (Greg), Lauren Stull (Ray), Leslie Byars, (Dr. Thomas), Dr. Andrew Latimer, and Benjamin Latimer. Great-grandchildren are Samuel Massey, Eliza Stull, Jackson Byars, Anne Clark Byars and Lanier Byars. She also had several nieces and nephews.
