Edna L. Rudd

Edna L. Rudd, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021 at her residence. She was 87 years old.

Private family services will be held in Christian Home Church Cemetery in Wicksburg, AL.

Mrs. Rudd was born on May 24, 1933 to the late Allen and Beulah Hughes Howell. She married John Rudd in 1949 and they shared many years together until he passed away in 2006. Mrs. Rudd worked with First National Bank in Dothan as a bank teller for more than 40 years. She was a member of Westgate Church of Christ where she enjoyed serving meals for church functions and she provided meals for the Men’s Bible Study Class until she became ill. Mrs. Rudd loved to cook and often catered for many family and friends who certainly enjoyed the fruits of her labor. She enjoyed every minute she could get with family, and never passed up an opportunity to go fishing in Eufaula for catfish with her husband John.

Survivors include her children, Jan (Richard) Yates, Brentwood, TN, Kevin Rudd, Wicksburg, AL, Shane Rudd, Albertville, AL, and Barry Rudd, Dothan, AL; her 4 grandchildren, Amy (Brian) Hiatt, Emily (Alex) Thornton, Chelsie Rudd, and Cameron Rudd; and 1 great-grandchild, Lily Culbertson; her brother, Rubyn (Nell) Howell.
