Mrs. Edna Saucier Lawrence of Enterprise, Alabama passed away on Monday, June 26, 2017 in Hartford.  She was 92.


 


Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2017 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise.  Pallbearers will be Tristan Finch, Reilly Finch, and Ian Brewer.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday beginning at 10:00 and continuing until service time.  Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2017 in Lake Lawn Park Cemetery in Metairie, Louisiana.  Pallbearers will Eric Finch, Mark Harrell, Richie Carr, Matthew Harrell, Justin Hasty, and Ron Harrell.


 


In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Saint Jude’s Hospital or Wounded Warrior Project.


 


Mrs. Lawrence was born January 18, 1925 in Jefferson, Louisiana.  She was a retired employee of Sears with more than 20 years of service.  She was president of both the New Orleans Lions Club and Louisiana Women for Education (LWE).  She was a member of Grace Place Church of Enterprise, Alabama.  One of her proud moments was serving as a Rosie the Riveter operating a Street Car in New Orleans during World War II.


 


She was preceded in death by her parents, William Henry James and Mae Jesse Whann James; her husband of 37 years, Joseph Theogene Saucier, Jr. of New Orleans, LA and her husband of 4 years, Gilbert E. Lawrence of Russellville, KY.


 


Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Cheryl Saucier Shoemake and husband Ken Shoemake of Enterprise, AL, and Mrs. Judy Saucier Harrell and husband Ron Harrell of Morrison, CO; six grandchildren: Michael Shoemake (Michelle), Rachael Finch (Eric), Michelle Carr (Richie), Matthew Harrell (Dawn), Mark Harrell (Selena Sancreek), and Ruth Hasty (Justin); twelve great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
