EDNA  TEDDER  STRINGFELLOW


 


KINSEY. . .Edna Tedder Stringfellow, a resident of Kinsey, died Monday afternoon, January 30, 2012, at the home of a son, Allen Tedder, near Ashford. She was 82.



            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 1, 2012, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Larry Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Springs Baptist Cemetery, near Ashford. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P. M. Wednesday at the mortuary in Headland.



            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Ashford United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1007, Ashford, AL. 36312.



            Mrs. Stringfellow was born and reared in Webb, daughter of the late Rufus Bridges and Maudie Windsor Bridges. She lived most of her adult lifetime in Ashford before moving to Kinsey in 1987. Mrs. Stringfellow was a member of the Ashford United Methodist Church where she formerly taught a Sunday school class. In earlier years, she taught a children’s class at Cedar Springs Baptist Church. Recently, Mrs. Stringfellow attended New Freedom Church in Webb.



            Mrs. Stringfellow was preceded in death by her first husband, James Quinton Tedder, three sisters, Gussie Trammell, Vera Clayton and Dean Fletcher, a brother, Willie Bridges and a step-son, Chris Stringfellow.



            Surviving relatives include her husband, John Robert Stringfellow, Jr., Kinsey; a daughter Barbara Flournoy and husband, Wendell, Midland City; two sons, Ron Tedder and wife, Simone, Dothan; Allen Tedder and wife, Gayle, Ashford; three step-daughters, Carol Sisco, St. Augustine, FL; Lana Pate, Wilmington, N.C.; Jan Gilmer and husband, David, Dothan; a step-son, John Stringfellow, Frenchtown, N.J.; six grandchildren, Aimee Coughlin, Stephen Flournoy (Alice), Jill Brinkley (Michael), Jonathan Tedder (Amanda), Jeff Tedder and Mike Tedder (Leeann); nine great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.



            Serving as active pallbearers will be grandsons.
