Mr. Edward A. “Ed” Lindsey of Geneva, Alabama passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012.  He was 62.


 


Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 22, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Gene Hauser and Rev. Allen Marsh officiating.  Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continue until service time.


 


In lieu of flowers the family asked that memorial contributions be made to Trinity Church, P.O. Box 787, Geneva, AL 36340 or to the Geneva High School Scholarship Fund, 505 Panther Drive, Geneva, AL 36340.


 


Ed was born April 19, 1950, in Geneva County, Alabama to the late James Allen Lindsey and Mary Will Miller Lindsey Griswold.  He was employed with Army Fleet Support at Ft. Rucker as an aircraft mechanic. Ed attended Trinity Church and was a very loving husband and father.


 


In addition to his parents, a daughter, Amy Zann Mitchell, mother and father-in-law, Beverly Prince and Lillie Mac Hightower Patton, as well as a brother-in-law, David Pierce Patton, all preceded him in death.


 


Survivors include his wife Shay Patton Lindsey; one son, John Edward Lindsey; two sisters: Alendia Brown (Russell) and Vickey Lindsey, all of Geneva; special nephews and nieces: David Weeks, Brad Weeks (Jamie), Stephen Brown (Joette) and Lee Brown Foster (Brad); brother-in-law, Prince Patton (Karen), Dothan; other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
