Edward Charles “Ed” Knowles, 61, of Montgomery, formally of Dothan, Alabama passed away peacefully on May 27, 2016.

Charles was born in Dothan, AL on August 29, 1954. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Edward Knowles and Lois Juanita Knowles and his sister, Joan Lou Knowles Skipper. Charles graduated from Dothan High School and received a degree in Marketing from Troy State University. He worked for Baptist Health Services and retired from Haverty’s Furniture. He was a loving father and husband.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Roni Douglass Knowles, his daughter Elizabeth Caitlin Knowles, his son Michael Edward Knowles, his sister Joyce Knowles Bigbee, brother in law Herman L Skipper (Mexico), his sister in law Karen Douglass Smith, Beth Douglass Metcalf and brother in law Henderson J. Douglass all of Dothan, AL.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 with Minister Charles Ashley officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 1700 Barrington Road, Midland City, AL 36350. In lieu of flowers, his family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choosing.
