Edward Daniel “Butch” Kynard, Sr. of Geneva, AL passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at a Dothan Hospital. He was 77 years old.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 16, 2020 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva with the Rev. Zack Dodson officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma, AL with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m.

 

Mr. Kynard was born in Selma, AL on October 29, 1942 to the late Wesley Daniel and Ina Maxine Hooker Kynard. Mr. Kynard faithfully served his country in the US Air Force. He was a professional painter by trade and was always known for his neat dress. Butch would always have the cleanest, shiny white tennis shoes. He always believed in looking his best when he went out, especially for the ladies. He was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, who raised him, Edward Daniel and Mittie Mae Autrey Kynard; one brother, William Maxwell Hall and one sister, Nancy Carol Watford.

 

Butch is survived by his children, Daniel Kynard (Latasha Bundy) and Tara Sugden (Steven Austin) both of Geneva; Brian Kynard (Brandy) of Dothan, Al,  Kevin Kynard, Geneva; mother of his children, Alice Gilley, Geneva; one sister, Sonja Allen of Wetumpka, AL, 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and twins on the way; one special niece, Shari Walters of Madison, AL and one special nephew, Aaron Allen (Matt) of Wetumpka, AL.
