Edward Eulan Holland, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022, at his residence following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2022, at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Eric Holland and Reverend Stacy Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in Cottonwood City Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:15 p.m. on Sunday prior to service time.

Mr. Holland was born March 21, 1940, in Cottonwood to Eurlee and Pauline Hall Holland and lived the early years of his life there. He was a 1958 graduate of Cottonwood High School and played football on the first state champion team. He later served his country in the U. S. Army. Mr. Holland was employed with the Dothan Police Department for 29 years, retiring as Sergeant. In his years of policing, he was known as “Kojak” and “Supercop”. He won the Honor Guard with Rifle detail and several trophies during his career. He was a Mason with the Cottonwood Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge, the FOP, and Southside Baptist Church.
He is predeceased by his parents, his wife, Ella Ruth Holland, two brothers, Talmadge Holland and Drexil Holland, and a son-in-law, Richard Ward.
Survivors include his daughter, Michelle Ward of Easley, SC; “his boy” who was like the son he never had, Justin Vann of Troy; a brother, Howard Holland (Judy) of Headland; a sister-in-law, Patricia Holland of Dothan; two grandchildren, Hannah Furr (Garrett) of Easley, SC and Heath Ward of Easley, SC; five nieces and nephews, Kathy Danford, Eric Holland, Holli Grace, Heather Wilcox, and Sean Holland; a special girlfriend, Pat Laws of Cottonwood that he loved dearly.
Active pallbearers will be Mike Cirulli, Justin Vann, Donald Valenza, Shon Townsend, Scott Danford, and Heath Ward.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Dothan City Police Department and the Houston County Sherriff’s Department, John White, Larry Love, and Don Clements.
