Edward “Jack” Leon Jackson, a resident of Midland City, passed away at his residence on Saturday, April 25, 2020 after a short illness. He was 91.
In consideration of community health and public safety due to the COVID 19 Virus, military honors will be rendered for family and close friends at 2 pm on Monday, April 27, 2020 in the Sunset Memorial Park Pavilion.
Mr. Jack was born on October 11, 1928 in East Prairie, MO and lived the early years of his life there. He was a veteran of the US Army having served for 22 years and at the time of his retirement he was an E7 Mess Hall SGT. Mr. Jackson owned and operated Jackson’s Christmas Tree Farm for the past 20 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved playing Soduko.
Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his mother, Notria Brown, his brother, Wayne Jackson, his sister, Jewell King, his brother-in-law, Leroy Williams, his son, Roger Dean, and his great granddaughter, Ariel Smith.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Fay Mills Jackson; his son, Mark (Paula) Jackson; his daughter, Tammy (Chet) Exum; his sister, Doris Williams; his grandchildren, Sandra Michelle, Chris Dean, Mandy (John) Bond, Chrissie Escamilla; his great-grandchildren, Lacey Parker, Bailey Mitchell, Abraham Escamilla, Avirella Escamilla, Jaylyn Escamilla, and Bruce Mitchell; a special nephew Robbie King and several nieces and nephews.
