Edward Warfield passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on November 25, 2018. He was 85.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11:30 am at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, located at 32444 East Highway 4, Slocomb, AL 36375 with Rev. Larry Newton officiating. Family will receive friends at the church starting at 10:30 until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church Respite Care, 1380 West Main Street, Dothan, AL 36301.

Ed retired after a 35-year career with GTE. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, horseback riding and gardening. He loved sharing his talents and interest with his grandsons and many special friends over the years. He was a dedicated husband and father. His later years were spent caring for his wife of 66 years.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dolores and a daughter, Deborah Davidson.

Ed is survived by a brother, Ted (Pat) Warfield; a sister, Louise (Chuck) Yozeman; his children, Richard (Mary) Warfield and Sherry (Michael) Martin; seven grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.
