Mr. Edwin L. Fox of Coffee County, Alabama passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at his home under the compassionate care of his family and Southern Care Hospice. He was 86.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 11, 2014 from the Green Hill Presbyterian Church with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing. The church located on E. Lee Street in Enterprise, Alabama. Burial will follow at a later date in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, located at 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, Pennsylvania. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday beginning at 10:30 am and continuing until service time.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Green Hill Presbyterian Church, 735 East Lee Street, Enterprise, Alabama 36330 or to Southern Care Hospice, 2576 Montgomery Hwy Suite 2, Dothan, Alabama 36303.
Mr. Fox was born February 16, 1928 in Monaca, Pennsylvania to the late Albert and Agnes Fox. He proudly served his country with the U. S. Army during WWII in the 82nd Airborne division. After serving in the Army, Mr. Fox returned home and enrolled in the Pittsburgh Technical Institute in Pittsburgh, PA. He graduated in 1949 with a degree in Industrial Engineering. On July 9, 1949 Mr. Fox married his High School sweetheart, Elizabeth “Libby” Bobroski. After their marriage they were blessed with a family of four, one son and three daughters. Ed had a rewarding career as the Manager of Engineering Services with Westinghouse Electric; Standard Control Division located in Beaver, PA. He was a lifetime member of Wellsburg Lodge A.F and A.M. of West Virginia and a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason at New Castle, PA.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Fox was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years; one son, Kenneth (Sun); three daughters, Elaine Schafer (David), Karen Darbut (Doug), Kathleen Percic (John); seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
