HALEBURG. . .Elbert Bristow, a resident of Haleburg, died Sunday afternoon, June 20, 2021, at his home. He was 92.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 23, 2021, in the Haleburg Baptist Church with Reverend Ray Cobb and Reverend Mark Bristow officiating. Burial will follow in the Haleburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 P.M. Wednesday in the church sanctuary. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bristow was a native of Houston County and was reared in Columbus, Georgia and Haleburg, son of the late James Pitts Bristow and Ila Bell Wilbourn Bristow. He lived in Haleburg most of his lifetime where he was a member of the Haleburg Baptist Church. Mr. Bristow was retired from the Ironworkers No. 387, Atlanta, as an Ironworker. In later years, he owned and operated Smokey’s Restaurant across from the Farley Plant. Mr. Bristow was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Money Bristow, a daughter-in-law, Vickey Bristow, a son-in-law, Jackie Elliott, and four brothers, Fred Bristow, Hubert Bristow, Eugene Bristow and Coy Bristow.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Joy Bristow Littlefield (Roy), Haleburg; two sons, Gill Bristow, Columbia; and Mike Bristow; a sister-in-law, Hazel Bristow, Fountain, FL; four grandchildren, Trinity Ingram Jones (Zane), Daniel Bristow (Sherrie), Robbie Roberson and Lee Roberson (Elizabeth); five great-grandchildren, Segrest Bristow, Brandon Hovey, Gabe Ingram, Addison Roberson and Kaylee Roberson.
