Elder Driskell was born in Macon, Georgia on January 15, 1952, to the parents of the late LeeRoy Driskell, Sr. and Lucinda Driskell. He attended M. M. Burdell Elementary School and was a graduate of Peter G. Appling High School in 1970 (Go Wildcats!). After high school he served in the United States Marines.
Elder Driskell accepted Christ and took flight preaching God’s word at the youthful age of 19. His spiritual mother in the Gospel, Mother A. B. Jackson nurtured and helped develop the dynamic preacher we all know and love. Pastor Driskell was always ready to give a kind word, and smile. He embodied Proverbs 15: 1 a, a soft word turns away wrath.
Elder Driskell dedicated his life to Ministry. He travelled across the nation preaching and teaching God’s word. He never met a stranger. Elder Driskell will especially be missed and remembered in Kentucky, Louisiana, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Alabama. Elder Driskell left us with the great challenge of 2 Timothy 2:15, study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 41 years, Missionary Gloriastine Driskell; Daughters, Daphne, and Lydia; Sons, Lemuel (Alyse), Leland Driskell, Lance (Latoya), Leighton Driskell, Lawton (Tiona), and Langston Driskell. He is also survived by his Sisters; Julia Pearl Driskell, Brenda (Ernest) Wheeler; Brothers; Jerome (Frankie ) Driskell, Arthur Lee Driskell, Darrell Driskell; aunt, Linda Finney (Benny), 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
