ELIZABETH G. “PRISS” WHITE
HEADLAND.…Elizabeth G. “Priss” White, a resident of Headland, passed away Saturday evening, December 28, 2019 at her home. She was 79.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at the Gardens of Memory, near Headland, with Dr. Cecil M. Sanders, Jr. officiating. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 P.M. Tuesday, at the Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel.
Mrs. White was born in Headland, Alabama to the late William Haywood Graddy & Cynthia Campbell Graddy. She lived her entire life in Headland except when she wasn’t at one of the loves of her life (the beach), which was a second home to her. Elizabeth loved to garden her flowers and was an avid reader, where she would read a book a day. In earlier years she was a member of the Headland Garden Club, Headland Library Board, and was a member of the Eastern Star. She retired from the City of Headland as the city clerk with over thirty years of dedicated service. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Joe White; a son, John Haywood White; and a brother, Joe Graddy.
Leaving to cherish her memories are a daughter, Georgiana Faulk (Greg), of Headland; a daughter-in-law, Beth Cooley White, of Headland; her sisters, Julia White, of Headland, and Nell Johnson, of Arkansas; her grandchildren, Billy Faulk (Rachel), Anna Kate Faulk, Cody White, and Caleb White, all of Headland; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and also her canine companion, Miley.
