Ellas Dillon Divers, of Pansey, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2016. He was 88.


Born May 5, 1928 in Roanoke, Virginia to the late Irvin Lee and Francis Genevann Divers, Mr. Divers was a retired Master Sergeant with the United States Army. He and his wife, Barbara were members of  Gordon Baptist Church.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Gerldene Glover, step-son, Dennis Thrash; his brothers, Robert Divers, Loyd Divers, Boyd Divers, Alfred Divers, and Ories Divers; and his sisters, Myrtle Brubaker, Alma Brubaker, and Ethel Siekes.


Survivors include his wife, Barbara Divers; his step-daughters, Debra (Bobby) Butler and Brenda (Roy) Linton; his step-daughter-in-law, Rita Thrash; his step-son, Michael (Diane) Miller; his sisters, Zelma (Lenard) Hubbard and Helen (William) Ronk; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, August 6, 2016 from the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bobby Elliot officiating.  Burial will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery in Avon. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 2 PM, an hour prior to the service.


The family will be accepting flowers.
