ELLEN CAMPBELL
DOTHAN. . .Ellen Campbell, a resident of Dothan, died early Thursday morning, September 13, 2012, at her home. She was 74.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 15, 2012, in the Blackwood Church, near Headland, with Dr. C.J. Campbell and Reverend Phillip Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at the mortuary in Headland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Living Hope Ministries, designated for: Central India Outreach, 308 Charleston Lane, Dothan, AL. 36301.
Mrs. Campbell was born in Dexter, Missouri and was reared in Alton, Illinois, daughter of the late Clyde Thomas Stickels and Sylvia Greene Stickels. She formerly lived in Merrillville, Indiana before moving to Dothan in 2001. Mrs. Campbell was a member of the Blackwood Church. She was retired, due to disability, as a Medical Transcriptionist.
Ellen served the Lord her whole life and was very involved in all areas of Ministry with her husband in the church. She and her husband were Ministers for over fifty years and she will forever be remembered for her beautiful singing voice.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Dr. C. J. Campbell, Dothan; two daughters, Annette Savvas, New Port Richey, Florida; and Jayne Calder (Chris), Dothan; five grandchildren, Michael Savvas, Elleni Savvas, George Savvas, Ryan Calder and Zach Calder; a sister, Peggy Irwin (Bob), and a brother, James Stickels (Nancy), all of St. Louis, MO; several nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law from the Campbell family.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Michael Savvas, George Savvas, Steve Savvas, Chris Calder, Frank DeFina and Randall Oettle.
