HEADLAND…Ellen Lane Floyd, a resident of the Tumbleton Community of Henry County, died late Thursday night, February 25, 2021, in the Henry County Health & Rehabilitation Facility. She was 92.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 1, 2021, in the Balkum Cemetery with Reverend Sam White officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. Social distancing and mask guidelines will be observed. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Balkum Cemetery Fund, c/o Beulah Morgan, 4153 County Road 56, Headland, AL 36345.
Mrs. Floyd was born and reared in the Hebron Community of Henry County, daughter of the late Jack Lane and Frankie Granberry Lane. She lived in the Tumbleton Community all of her adult lifetime, where she and her late husband were engaged in farming. Mrs. Floyd was a member of the Balkum Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Floyd, a daughter-in-law, Terri Floyd, three sisters, Aline Lane, Mavis May and Gladys Arnold, and three brothers, Otis Marshall, Martin Marshall and Lyman Marshall.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Steve Floyd (Linda) and Ken Floyd, all of Dothan; four grandchildren, Wess Floyd (Melissa), Blount Floyd (Annie), Lane Floyd (Mara) and Erin Bledsoe (Will); five great-grandchildren, Gus Floyd, Logan Floyd, Parker Williford, Harrison Floyd and Ripley Floyd; several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, T. Larry Smith.
