WEBB. . .Ellis Elwood Baucom, Sr., a resident of Webb, Alabama, died Friday afternoon, October 13, 2023, at his home. He was 85.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Monday, October 16, 2023, in the Center Baptist Church Cemetery, near Webb, with Chaplain Tim Stevenson officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Monday at the mortuary in Headland.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Ellis Baucom was born in Clarksville, Arkansas and was reared in Columbus, Mississippi. He moved to Webb in 1972 where he was a member of Center Baptist Church. Ellis was retired from Chapman Homes in Dothan. In earlier years, he was employed by Daniel Construction Company at the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant. Ellis was preceded in death by his parents, Kermit and Irene Smith Baucom, his wife, Rhonda Kirkland Baucom, two daughters, Stephanie Irene Baucom and Natalie Britt, two sisters, Katherine Phillips and Martha Cole and a brother, Pete Baucom.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Brittany Thorne (Bo), Webb; three sons, Ellis Baucom, Jr., Sierra Vista, Arizona; Richey Baucom (Carol), Dothan; and Guy Baucom (Jennifer), Headland; a half-sister, five half-brothers, ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one on the way.
