Elnore Faye Ethridge, a resident of Kinsey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 20, 2021. She was 73 years old.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11 am on Thursday, April 22, 2021 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brad Hardy and Rev. David Starling officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10-11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Kinsey Baptist Church Relay for Life Team to support the American Cancer Society, 6745 Walden Dr., Kinsey, AL 36303.
Elnore was born on October 25, 1947 in Dothan to the late Foy and Lucille Glass. She was a 1967 graduate of Dothan High School and was employed with Dothan City Schools as a Computer Lab Specialist for more than 12 years. Elnore loved to travel and after their retirement, Elnore and Ray enjoyed going camping together, especially on Lake Eufaula with the grandchildren. Elnore was a member of Kinsey Baptist Church where she was a member of the Friendship Sunday Class.
Elnore was preceded in death by her parents, Foy T. and Lucille Summers Glass by her brother-in-law, Ronald Ethridge, and by her mother and father-in-law, Orlan and Mary Ethel Ethridge.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Thomas Ray Ethridge; her son, Wade Ethridge and his special friend, Rose Rich; her daughter, Kendra Hagler and her husband, Norman; her 4 grandchildren, Hardy Ethridge, Hank Ethridge, Brooke Hagler, and Ranah Kate Ethridge; her sister, Cherie Atkinson; her brother, Keenan Glass; her brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Dale Starling, Terri and Everett Mathis, and Glenda Ethridge; and several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Norman Hagler, Hardy Ethridge, Hank Ethridge, Everett Mathis, Tyler Mathis, DJ Starling, T. Turner, Stacey Ethridge, and Brandon Ethridge. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the Friendship Sunday School Class.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Kindred Hospice for the compassion and care shown to them during their time of need, especially JoAnn, Morgan, and Allison.
