COLUMBIA. . .Eloise Harrison Hunter, a resident of Columbia, died Friday night, August 30, 2024, in the Graceville Health Center, Graceville, Florida. She was 95.

            Graveside services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Sunday, September 1, 2024, in the Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery, near Columbia, with Reverend Larry Elliott officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Zion Methodist Church, P.O. Box 190, Columbia, Alabama 36319.

            Mrs. Hunter was a native of Grimes and was reared in Gordon, daughter of the late Earnest Cleveland Harrison and Roxie Ann McNeal Harrison. She lived in Columbia all her adult lifetime. Mrs. Hunter was a member of the First Baptist Church of Columbia and was a former member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church. She was retired from the Columbia Senior Center. In earlier years, Mrs. Hunter was employed by the Judy Bond Blouse Company. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Edward Hunter, a son, Wilson Hunter, three sisters, Doris Thomlin, Catherine Lanford and Imogene Patterson, a brother, Hubert Harrison, and a great-grandson, Desmond Karl.

            Surviving relatives include four daughters, Barbara Ann Curry, Naylor, GA; Linda Rollins, Abbeville; Janice Cammack (Corrie), Columbia; and Karen Nolan (David), Dothan; a son, Jerry Hunter (Vicky), Dothan; and a daughter-in-law, Debra Hunter, Columbia; twelve grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
